If you’re reading this, you’ve probably heard by now that Google recently announced the next major version of Android, 8.0 Oreo.

While Google was pretty vague about when exactly this new Android version would roll out, it looks like we didn’t have to wait that long. Over-the-air updates began rolling out to compatible Pixel and Nexus devices within a few minutes, factory images for those with unlocked bootloaders appeared now long after, and now a week later it looks like the OTA files are being posted too.

If you happen to own a Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, or Nexus 5X, and don’t mind doing a bit of dirty work, you’ve come to the right place. We’re rounding up all the Android 8.0 Oreo factory image and OTA file links we can get our hands on.

Below you’ll find a list of Android Oreo factory images and OTA files for all recent Pixel and Nexus devices. We’ll be sure to keep this list up to date with links as soon as they show up, so keep checking back if your update isn’t here yet!

Before you get stuck in, it’s worth noting that there are a two different Oreo builds for the Pixel and Pixel XL phones at the moment. Bell, Telus, Telstra, TMO, Sprint, USCC, or Rogers/Fido customers will want version OPR6.170623.011, while all other carrier options should use build number OPR6.170623.012. I should also point out that the Nexus 6P factory image won’t work with US Cellular yet, and the OTA is also not designed for use with T-Mobile, US Cellular, or Fi.

This is an experimental app for use with ardupilot setups. 6/7 NOTES:

• WITH OPEN.HD HUD/OVERLAY DATA (This has not been tested very much)
• Added additional items to the OSD overlay including traditional OSD items such as GPS position, voltage current etc...
• Made the OSD a little more elastic.

Quick Start For the OpenHD Image

• IMPORTANT: Read and follow the wiring instructions

• Download the sdcard image and leave it in zip format (do not unzip)

• Write it onto two (minimum 2GB) SD cards. One for the AirPi and another for the GroundPi. See instructions on this page on how to write .img files on SD cards. Pi with the camera connected will act as AirPi, without camera will act as GroundPi.

• Insert each SD card into each Raspberry Pi and boot them up.

Configuration

• Do not change anything for first tests. The system will start the first time on a frequency in the 2.4GHz band

• If everything runs as intended, put each SD Card in Windows computer or anything that has a text editor (Tablet, Smartphone),and edit openhd-settings-1.txt configuration options. Other options are available osdconfig.txt. NOTE: it is good practice to have all settings identical in both sd cards
